We’re so glad you’re here! A little about us:

We’re three friends who met as scholars in the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Doctor of Ministry cohort at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. We had an awesome experience there — we studied hard, traveled to West and South Africa, and bonded over the hazing rigors of doctoral student life. We earned a Doctor of Ministry in African American Centered Religious Thought and Practice in 2019. Bottom line, we’re theologians and seasoned pastors who don’t play about Jesus or our culture.

Righteous, Ratchet & Real evolved out of many conversations over the years about the ways in which the Church isn’t always a healthy space for people like us. See, we love the Church and believe that better is possible. Together we’ve created the podcast that we’d want to hear, something for those who love God but know both the Church and life can be real messy sometimes. And we’re so excited you’ve come along for the ride.
